In a tweet in a post on Twitter The official Twitter account announced that the game is set to close its doors by the end in 2024. The account thanked its loyal fans of players, the account announced the game wouldn’t continue for the next few years.

“To our faithful players” the blog post says. “It is with great sadness that we announce that DISSIDIA’s FINAL FANTASY OMNIA will cease service in February. 29th, 2024 at 00:00:00 UTC. We’d like to say thank us for all the years of dedication and we hope that you play for a short time longer.”

The fans have received an unsatisfactory reaction in the wake of the demise to the Final Fantasy mobile game. Some have behaved strangely in response to the decision however, others have expressed their sadness following years of playing the mobile game for free.

“This is a shocking abrupt and unplanned shutdown of the fan-favorite spinoff. There was clearly plenty to be planned to come out of the game. But now it’s removed,” one fan said. “Please can there be an offline version that it is possible to play the game or at the very least, a video version?”

“Wow it’s depressing. This game made revenue and there’s any way that the cost for both teams was greater than what it earned,” said another. “RIP yet another gacha. It was an enjoyable journey.”
