The argument over the length of video games is rekindled following a tweet from a player saying that they won the trophy of platinum from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in 30 hours. The fans rushed to respond, and the players seemed to be divided in debates over the issue of whether 30 hours were too small or enough.

The first Spider-Man game from Marvel’s Spider-Man video game lasted about 17 hours to complete the plot and took 35 hours to create a complete save file. This is when you aren’t wandering around New York. Announcing that the sequel can finish in 30 minutes seems like a reasonable expectation; however, it has many fans who are debating on what a suitable time frame is for an AAA film like this.

The debate on Reddit is based on one of the sides affirming that “It’s better to honestly have a 30-hour but high-quality game than a 200-hour, artificially stalled-out game.” The first time Miles Morales launched in 2000, it was a more concise campaign than Spider-Man’s Spider-Man, creating a better experience with less “filler.”

The argument revolves around each month and generally concerns how much money you invest in the game. For example, spending PS20 on a game offering 100 hours of gameplay appears to be an excellent value. However, PS70 to play for 30 hours it’s not as good. One thing that’s rarely considered is how you feel. Did it grab you? Did it provide a cinematic feeling?

A user posted a sarcastic remark directed at people complaining. He said, “I think the fact we had to wait five years and the game itself isn’t five years long is disgusting.” In a season of lengthy RPGs, 30 hours is an ideal time for most. Naturally, we need as many hours of Spider-Man as possible. However, the reality is that most players do not need to commit to the 80 hours of a game.
