PSA: Xur has a great weapon for new Destiny 2 players
The Agent of Nine Xur is a mysterious character that appears every week in Destiny 2. He offers a variety of weaponry and armor. His Exotic armor and weapons aren’t special this week, but his legendary wave-frame grenade launcher “Deafening Whisper” is a weapon new players shouldn’t miss.
Why is this weapon so great? Wave frame grenade launches are already great for PVE. Xur has rolled Deafening Whisper for this week, and it comes with the most important perk of all: an Auto-Loading Hoster.
The Auto-Loading Holster perk lets you fire a shot from a grenade-launching weapon, change to a different weapon and then return to the grenade launcher a few moments later.
The long reloading animation of breach-loading launchers is a major downside. Being able to avoid it completely is fantastic. This season Deafening Whisper is a great weapon since it gets Volatile Rounds from an artifact that gives Void weapons Volatile Rounds.
Surplus is the other perk that comes with Xur’s Deafening Whisper this week in Destiny 2. It’s not as good when combined with Auto-Loading, but it still has a lot of value, thanks to its Linear Compensator, High-Velocity rounds, and Linear Compensation. This is a great grenade launcher for new players. Veteran players will likely have better ones.
You can now find Xur on Nessus in Destiny 2 at the Watcher’s Grave. You can find Xur in the Watcher’s Grave on Nessus. Just load into that spot and head north to the large sloping trees.
You can grab the Deafening Whisper, as well as Exotics or armor by climbing up to him. We’ve already said that most of the rolls for Exotics and armor are not great. However, if you have some currency to spare and you’re new, you can grab any Exotics and armor you do not currently own.
