You’ll need to spend over PS88,000 to fully upgrade your ‘Diablo Immortal’ character.
We finally got to see the Diablo free-to-play title, Diablo Immortal. It was released on mobile as well as PC. It was revealed that the title had been pulled from several European countries just before launch.
All this is due to looting box laws. Activision Blizzard stated last week that the game would not be released in Belgium and the Netherlands because of “the current operating conditions for games in these countries”. We are already beginning to see the adverse effects of the loot box mechanics in those countries where it came out.
According to GameRant’s YouTube channel Bellular News, to upgrade a character entirely in the game, one would need to spend $110,000 on in-game currency (or PS88,000). Diablo Immortal offers three ways to improve your characters. We also have Legendary Gems that can be used to increase your XP or equipment levels. Everyone loves an excellent mobile title. This is the place where all else begins to crumble.
It is challenging to get your hands on Legendary Gems. Eurogamer says that earning them is completely random and very rare. Worse, the top-rated gems can only be obtained via pay-to-win options. This leaves free-to-play players out of it. The worst part about those pay-to-win options is that there’s no guarantee you’ll get what you are looking for. Gems cannot be purchased outright and can only be obtained via random drops from Legendary Chests, which are, in all other respects, loot boxes.
