FFXIV Patch 6.11 & New Ultimate Releases Soon; Here’s what to expect
Patch 6.1 Final Fantasy XIV has several interstitial patches that will bring more content. The first, patch 6.11, is nearly here. The new Ultimate duty, Dragonsong’s Reprise, is the main feature of Patch 6.11. This raid instance combines several of the most iconic fights from the heavenward expansion into one challenge instance.
Although the exact date and hour are not known, it is possible to make an educated guess that Patch 6.11 will be released Tuesday, April 26. This would likely include a brief maintenance period early in the morning Pacific time. The official FFXIV Twitter account stated so! FFXIV has had a very consistent content schedule over the years. So, it’s not surprising that the “x.11” patch comes two weeks after “x.1”.
Ultimate-difficulty Raids are very difficult for those not familiar. This content is aimed at the FFXIV hardcore players. An Ultimate pits eight players against four (4) Savage/Extreme bosses in one row. They all must be defeated in the same instance, and a party wipe is a new start. It sounds harsh, and it is. As the FFXIV account stated, don’t forget to take your food and your potions. You don’t want to be caught slipping.
Ultimates are always based upon previous content, with wild remixing mechanics and phases that will surprise you. We’re eager to see how the big fights from Heavensward can be recreated. We’ve already seen Hraesvelgr & Nidhogg in action as a tag team at the Steps of Faith, as teased by a Live Letter. We also expect to bring down King Thordan, the dillweed King of the Round Table, with his Knights of the Round Table.
Although Patch 6.11 won’t have the content that players love, it might include minor tweaks or bug fixes. When the FFXIV 6.11 patch notes are available, we’ll update you.
Do not worry; Patch 6.1 still has new content that you can play through. Some of these we haven’t yet gotten to. The important stuff was taken care of, however. We have all you need to know about the new features in the game. For more information, read our insight on the HTMLXIV 6Q and the story of the Aglaia raid.
