Final Fantasy XIV keeps adding new things, so we don’t always notice what’s disappearing. Cape Westwind won’t be Rhitahtyn being stomped on by eight players. You can only hope that the Yo-Kai Watch collaboration event will be held soon if you are hungry for them. Get your Rathalos now!

PVP is another aspect of this. Another replaces one PVP event type. Rival Wings will be gone, and Crystalline Conflict will replace it while Square Enix makes some adjustments. Rival Wings was an extensive PVP mode that had a 24×24 size. It was added in Patch 4.15. It was a MOBA-like game where two teams competed to control several towers along with a set of lanes.

Rival Wings has left the community to celebrate its hiatus. PVP Revival will be hosting a “Goodbye Weekend”. This weekend, the community celebration will take place on European and North American servers. These are the meetup times for each data centre.

Saturday, April 9 – Evening events only

  • Crystal
  • Primal
  • Chaos
  • Light

Sunday, April 10, 2010 – Only evening events

  • Aether
  • Primal
  • Crystal
  • Chaos

If you are interested in joining, head to the PVP Revival Discord and coordinate with the hosts.

We deliberately use the phrase “celebrating its hiatus” intentionally. Rival Wings had a problem. No one was waiting to enter the mode unless they were farming the mount or during Moogle Treasure events. A 24v24 mode that isn’t crowded with players won’t work without a steady stream of players. It’s frustrating to wait in the queue for hours only to give way an hour later. This means you aren’t there when someone else is waiting. On the other hand, Crystalline Conflict seems to be a direct solution to this problem. It has a smaller 5v5 game mode and a gameplay objective similar to Overwatch.

April 11th will see the release of patch 6.1. You can also read about the job changes while waiting for the next patch. We also covered the latest Myths in the Realm alliance raid and new mounts and minions.
