How can I fix Elden Ring’s low FPS?

The game is still new and there have been reports of low FPS and micro stuttering. You can fix Elden Rings’ performance problems in a few different ways.

Updating graphics drivers

If you haven’t updated your graphics driver for a while, this may be an easy fix. It could cause the game not to run properly and it is important to keep them up-to-date with new game releases.

You can update your Nvidia card driver through Geforce Experience, or download the latest version from its website.

If you are a member of a team with an AMD Radeon Card, you can update your driver using Radeon software or via the web.

Modify graphics settings

You can improve your performance by changing the game files to high-performance mode. This can be done by searching the Windows “graphics settings” search. Once you have that open, select the desktop app and start looking for your game files. You may experience fewer issues if you set it to high performance.

Turn off the Steam overlay

The Steam overlay can cause problems in new ports and games. Right click Elden Ring in the library and click properties to turn off Steam overlay Turn it off, and then close the window. Launch the game, and the overlay will disappear. This may improve performance.

Set Global Shader Cache Size to unlimited

Nvidia Geforce experience installed will give you access to the Nvidia control panel. You can open it by right-clicking the Nvidia icon on the tray. The “Manage 3D Settings” tab is located on the left sidebar. Scroll down to the global settings and select global shader cache size. Then, click on Apply. You can also change the power preference to high performance to assist.

Disable Microsoft Device Association Root Enumerator

You can also disable the Microsoft Device Association Root Enumerator. To find the device, you will need to visit the device manager. Next, look for the device under software devices. You can then right-click on it to disable it.
