Two indie games saw their likeness used by another person within the same day. Outerverse’sassets were utilised for an NFT scam, and Unpacking was the subject of a ripoff that made its way up to the iOS charts. Outerverse is dealing with legal issues, but the game that uses Unpacking’ssystems disappeared from the store.

The app was called Unpacking Master and caught the eye of Unpacking developer Witchbeam Games. They received floods of comments from fans about the clone’s ads on TikTok.

The Witch Beam team described the situation as “demoralizing” and stated that it would release a mobile version of Unpacking Masters if it did so. Polygon explains that the game is not available in the iOS App Store or the Google Play Store.

The team sent two follow-up tweets when we asked for a comment. Witch Beam thanked supporters for their support and expressed relief that the copycat game wasn’t for sale.

We wanted to thank everyone for their overwhelming support over the past few hours. It means so much to me. Apple has updated the app to remove it, but it is still available on the Google Play Store. We are grateful for your continued support of our game.

Final update: The app has been removed from the Google Play Store. Thank you to everyone who reported it for being a copycat!

Unpacking Master was delisted in most countries, but some fans claim it’s still available in places like Norway and has been reporting it accordingly.
