GROW: THE SONG OF EVERTREE REVIEW

Grow: Song of the Evergreen is somewhere in between an adventure and a casual farm game. It is truly a breathtaking experience. Beautiful and easy to use, the game allows you to explore the world around you and keeps it casual while still telling the story.

The Evergreen is thriving and full of happiness in every one of their worlds. They prospered and started to build the cities together with the Everkin until they discovered Alchemy, which allowed them to experiment. They could build faster than ever before, but everything fell apart, and the Song that saved the Evetree disappeared. The Song was no longer being distributed, and people lost all hope. This allowed the Withering in to take over and destroy the planet. It is beautiful and fantasy-like. The music is also magical.

You can customize your character to go on a journey to save the Evergreen and bring the world back from the Withering. You even get your sweet dragon companion! It’s a very relaxing experience. My character was very cute. I could spend hours customizing them all and creating more adorable characters. Two very large personalities live with you, Book and Coppertop. They will help you on your journey and offer you tips and information as you ask.

You leave your dragon behind and start to nurture your first-world seed, Myora. You can only get a few of these seeds by singing the Evertree song. It is very relaxing to clean up the town where you’ve landed. If you like games like Stardew Valley and Slime Rancher, this is an ideal game for you. Your character will start to sing after you have cleaned up the town. They can nurture and grow plants and are connected to the Song of the Evertree. This was something I was very excited about. You can grow your plants instantly by singing to them. The ground changing from a brown barren field to a lush green was amazing and gives the player a sense excitement.

After you’ve saved the town and grown everything, you can return to your Alchemy Hut, where you will be given quests that you will receive rewards. You will find more towns to build and more discoveries that are vital for your progress.

You are introduced to the Everkin a little while into the story. This made me so happy. They are adorable little creatures and each one is unique in their respective jobs. The Song has caused a lot of problems in relationships, so now it’s up to you and your family to fix them. You now have the chance to catch and fish for bugs, which is a great opportunity if you love Animal Crossing.

Accessibility

Grow: Song of the Evertree can be played with a controller or keybinds. Personally, I used a controller to play this game. It is slow-paced, so you don’t have to rush or feel guilty if you do something wrong. As a disabled player, I appreciated this. It doesn’t matter how much you spend on the game, it is still enjoyable and fulfilling. You can also make the usual audiovisual adjustments. Although not directly accessible, customization options allow you to choose to play as a male, female, or non-binary character. You can also change your body size to become a plus-size one. These options were amazing.

Performance

This build is very reliable and should run smoothly on budget gaming machines. It worked great on my mid-tier laptop. I experienced no problems during gameplay and had no framerate drops or crashes.
