Lego Sonic the Hedgehog: Release date and where to purchase
This is awesome. Sonic the Hedgehog is a classic for old-fashioned, gloomy gamers like me. Lego. What could be better? Recreate Sonic’s Green Hill Zone in tiny plastic bricks, and have your cat knock it over every time you open the door?
Nothing is what it seems. Sam Johnson, Lego’s designer, agrees.
“Almost everyone who has played video games at any level over the past 30 years knows and loves Sonic. He has most likely sped through the legendary Green Hill Zone with him.”
“We designed this set to be as fun and colorful as The Green Hill Zone’s in-game version. Then we filled it with many easter eggs and prizes to allow fans to enjoy their favorite gaming icons in a new way.
Lego’s Ideas allows anyone to suggest an idea and, if it receives more than 10,000 votes, it could become a reality. Viv Granell, from the UK, suggested the Sonic set. Ideas have seen sets from Friends, Seinfeld, and Sesame Street before. The International Space Station was also greenlit for production.

What’s in the Lego Sonic the Hedgehog Box?
This kit faithfully recreates the Green Hill Zone’s screens. It’s incredible how accurately the bricks look, as shown in the photo above. Along with the 1125 pieces, we also receive a new minifig of Sonic. There are four additional characters you can build: Robotnik, Moto Bug, and The Crabmeat.
Lego recommends that the set be purchased by those older than 18 years old due to its complexity. If you’re thinking of buying a gift for a younger player, keep this in mind.
