Black Desert’s happy pouch of fortune returns for the 2022 New Year
Pearl Abyss is the developer studio behind the popular MMORPG Black Desert. They have announced a new year’s celebration. Black Desert New Year offers players the opportunity to receive a ton of free stuff just for logging in and playing. The Black Desert’s Joyful Pouches of Fortune are back, giving players a chance for many mystery gifts. This is all you need to know.
Black Desert New Year 2022
Black Desert’s New Year 2022 Event is live and will go live on Wednesday (December 29). The event will be live until January 2022 and close at 23:59 UTC.
You can redeem a code for a gift and receive some goodies while the event is still going on. When you go to your account’s redeem code section, you can enter the following code: HAPPYNEWYEAR-2022. The code can be redeemed to get the following items: These items will be available in your in-game mail.
- Blessing the Old Moon Pack (3 days) x1
- Artisan’s Memory, x10
- Aurora Snowflake x10
- Advice from Valks (+40), x2
- Kydic’s Crystal Adventure x1
- Big Garnier Firecracker Box x1
Other micro-events will also be held, including the Hope Filled Aura and Box Full of Wishes events and Ringing in the New Year with their respective start and ending times.
Aura of Hope
The Black Desert Hope-filled Aura Event starts on December 29 and runs until January 5. The event will run until January 5, when maintenance begins. Participants in the event will receive a buff called “The New Year’s Hope Filled Aura.” Players above level 50 receive a 22% buff rate on their item drops. Before you can activate the buff, you must have at least 20 Energy.
A Box Full of Wishes
Players can participate in the Box Full of Wishes from January 1, 2022, to January 5 (before maintenance); this brings you a new quest that you can receive from the Black Spirit. The quest for the Wish Lantern opens a new chain that will lead to two more quests. The quest will eventually reward you with a Box Full Of Wishes and other contributions to XP. To start the quest chain, you must be at least level 56.
The following rewards are available for those who complete the Black Desert’s Box Full of Wishes quest:
- Caphras Strone bundle
- Memory Fragment Bundle
- Yona’s Fragment, x20
- Magical Shard x20
- Sharp Black Crystal x10
- Hard Black Crystal Shard, x10
Ring in the New Year
The Ringing in the New Year celebration begins on January 1 and runs until January 5. To be eligible for the Black Desert Joyful Pouches of Fortune, you must defeat the monsters in the event. Each Joyful pouch contains a fortune that allows you to visit NPC Lara. She is located near the hill to the west of Velia.

You can receive the following rewards if you bring in one of the Joyful Pouches of Fortune in BDO:
- Gold Bar – 10g, x7
- Contribution XP 500
- You have the option of: Item drop rate + 10% (2 hour buff); +50% SkillXP for two hours; or +10% XP.
