Blizzard has released a complete list of changes made to the Season of Mastery. This includes increased experience, faster PvP ranking and new mechanics in Molten Core, Onyxia’s Lair.

You can now reserve your name prior to the Season of Mastery’s launch. The full game will launch on November 16th. Find out the time in your area .

Systems

  • All characters below level 60 will be granted the buff “Adventure awaits”.
    • This buff will increase your quest experience by 40%
    • This buff also grants additional bonus experience to Group or Dungeon Quest turn ins.
  • Raid instances do not allow players to benefit from world buff effects like Warchief’s Be blessed, Warchiefs Cry of the Dragonslayer and Spirit of Zandalar.
  • Limits on buff and debuff will be eliminated.
  • The experience of players who kill an enemy in a group that includes one or more players at a higher level than the slain enemy is significantly reduced.
  • Calculations were used to calculate the experience that was awarded to enemies who have been “tapped” but then killed by another player/group.
  • Season of Mastery includes the Looking For Group tool by Burning Crusade Classic.
  • Chat feedback improvements are possible
    • In-chat confirmations added for players who report inappropriate behavior in chat as well as those that may be reported.
    • Players will be notified if there is an action against the player they report for verbal harassment or disruptive chat in-game.
    • You may be sent a warning message if your behavior has been moderately altered for the worse. This will allow you to change your behavior and avoid a possible penalty.
    • The system can skip the warning and immediately take action if a player displays an atypical behavior.
    • /ignore now blocks characters from the player’s WoW account.

Content

  • Significant adjustments will be made to the enemies of Onyxia’s Molten Core and Onyxia’s Lair.
    • Bosses and other boss-related creatures have seen their health improve.
    • Season of Mastery has seen many boss mechanics modified and new mechanics added to the mix.
  • All zones have seen a significant increase in the availability of Mining and Herbalism Nodes.
  • Black Lotus is a rare item for max-level herbalists who loot a high-level herbalism Node.
  • Plaguebloom will be available in the Western and Eastern Plaguelands.
  • There have been modifications and additions to Herbalism nodes within Dungeons.
  • Certain crafting materials like Elemental Fire, Elemental Earth, or Elemental Water have seen an increase in availability.
  • High Elf Watchers appeared in Ironforge, Undercity to document adventurers with a “Soul of Iron”.
  • Some dungeon foes have been slightly modified:
  • Stratholme – All Undead creatures within Stratholme will now be immune to snares for 30 seconds after entering combat, and immunity to roots for an additional 30 seconds.
  • Maraudon – Many Maraudon creatures will be immune to snares for 30 seconds after entering combat. They also gain immunity to roots for an additional 30 seconds.
  • Maraudon – 30 seconds after gaining immunity against root effects, enemies experience 50% faster movement speeds.
  • Maraudon and Stratholme – Crowd control of any kind (except snares and roots) will reset the snare immunity and root immunity and give speed buffs.
    • Zul’Farrak: The Zul’Farrak Zombie Trolls now drop less lucrative treasures. The majority of loot that was previously dropped by Zombie Trolls have been redistributed among other enemies in this dungeon.
  • Blackrock Depths residents have become suspicious of criminal activity. They will attempt to hide their most valuable items away from anyone they suspect.
  • The cost of buying level 40 mounts and training to ride has dropped.
  • Season of Mastery will launch with Dire Maul.
  • Players who are not on the tap for King Gordok can’t loot the Gordok Tribute chest at Dire Maul after the encounter has been won.
  • Season of Mastery will launch with changes made to patch 1.10 to dungeon reward. These include the availability of Idols and Librams and Totems. Drop locations and drop rates of certain items, such as the Hand of Justice from Blackrock Depths, have been adjusted.
  • Season of Mastery will launch with changes and additions to reputation vendors and item drops for patches 1.6 through 1.11, with some exceptions.
    • Items associated with reputations and items on vendors are not available until a later content phase such as Zandalar Tribe.
    • In a future content phase, the (world drop plan) for Titanic Leggings & Sageblade will become available.
  • To facilitate completion of the Dungeon Set 2 questlines, summon elemental Templars or Dukes at the Twilight’s Hammer camps of Silithus.
  • You should note that Anh’Qiraj’s activities in Silithus and Cenarion Hold will not be available until the Anh’Qiraj War Effort event starts later.
  • Season of Mastery will launch with 50-level class quests.
  • The Diamond Flask trinket’s on-use healing effect does not provide any bonus +healing, spell power or healing.
