SEGA SAYS HUMANKIND HAD a “GOOD START”, WANTS MAKE IT A ‘SERIES IN THE FUTURE’
SEGA CEO Haruki Satomi stated that humanity has made a good start. He was speaking to investors and analysts during a Q&A session. The SEGA report on its fiscal results for Q2 2021.
Humankind’s launch date player count earned the game a place among Steam’s most-played games. It even overtook Civilization 6’s player counts for a while.
Could Humankind 2 be possible?
Humankind IP looks bright, and Satomi commented on the future of the franchise.
“It was a good beginning so we can expect this to become a series in future.” Satomi said. “We see potential in this title and we want it to be cultivated for a long period of time.” Satomi.
In our review, we felt that Humankind had hit “severalsweet spots” and that was a “4X strategy fan looking for a new spin on the subgenre’s formula should absolutely consider trying”.
It’s great to hear that the Humankind IP will expand in the future. However, Humankind 2 is unlikely to be released until sometime in the near future. This is a good thing as there is still much content for Humankind. If you haven’t already, it’s available on Game Pass.
