Minecraft Snapshot 25w19a Adds Fog Tweaks, Projectile Overhaul, and Bug Fixes

Mojang has released **Snapshot 25w19a** for *Minecraft Java Edition*, the second snapshot of May 2025, bringing atmospheric updates, combat tweaks, and numerous bug fixes as part of the upcoming **1.21 update**.

One of the main highlights is the **fog overhaul**, which now separates environmental and render-distance-based fog to enhance the game’s ambiance. Players will notice foggier visuals during rain, creating a more immersive and moody atmosphere praised by the community.

Another major change impacts **projectile targeting**. Instead of a fixed margin, projectiles now start with **zero margin for the first two ticks**, gradually expanding to the usual 0.3-block tolerance. This improves accuracy for short-range shots while keeping long-range play fair.

Additional updates include:

* **Improved test framework behavior**
* **Updated shader fog mechanics**
* **New technical changes** to TNT and Vex entities, storing owner data for improved tracking
* **Panorama texture requirements**, sound adjustments, and revamped resource pack behaviors

**Notable bug fixes** address issues like TNT ownership loss, Vex summoning errors, player fire duration glitches, cloud rendering problems, and Happy Ghast movement inconsistencies.

The snapshot is available now for Java Edition users. Mojang has not yet confirmed when these features will arrive for Bedrock Edition.
