Starfield Steam reviews become predominantly negative post-Christmas
Starfield doesn’t seem to be faring all that well with reviewers on Steam – that holiday miracle seems unlikely now that most reviews for its sci-fi adventure game are mostly negative.
Bethesda would likely find solace if only Steam were the focus of critical reviews; unfortunately, poor reviews have pervaded every platform available and Starfield is falling further out of favour with each passing hour – yes, really that bad.
Fans have consistently described Starfield as lacking any lasting appeal; modders looking to introduce multiplayer expansions even less so. As such, its legacy remains that of disappointment and unfulfilled promises similar to Christmas’ broken gifts we wish for every year.
Start off any review by saying the game itself is boring and uninspired; that statement often opens a review up nicely. “The gameplay itself is uninspiring and bland; designed for maximum audience appeal and not offending anyone; while its characters sometimes shine brightly but are mostly dull – particularly your companions because they all share similar opinions on everything; characters also don’t look great either, having that uncanny valley effect made worse by Skyrim-style zoom-in whenever someone speaks”.
No doubt this review would seem harsher were it only to represent an isolated example, yet even positive comments mentioned Starfield’s many “issues”.
