As each new year dawns, there’s always an electric energy to looking ahead with anticipation and hopefulness. Resolution-makers or not, there’s something magical and invigorating about leaving behind what has passed and welcoming in something fresh from 2018.
As 2023 comes to a close, gamers have come together to debate which underrated game was the winner – not because I find its content unworthy, but simply due to being so underrated! But many were amazed to find Weird West as such an enjoyable time-sink that quickly garnered most upvotes via Reddit user Bexewa’s question “What was the most underrated game you played this year regardless of release date”. Weird West quickly rose above other contenders.
Blind_Insight, one of the free PlayStation Plus games this year, offered his thoughts: “Wild West is one of my favourite PS Plus titles this year; its gameplay resembles top down-ish shooting games with plenty of mechanics like kicking oil barrels into groups of enemies then tossing molotov bombs to light them off – I haven’t managed to beat this yet but its been keeping me entertained between playing The Finals!”
The_Disco_Fox concurred, writing that “this game is an absolute blast – there are lots of quests available and the game encourages players to break it.” I think Dishonored designers helped create it too and this shows; glad you enjoy it too.” vote_pedro was quick to agree: “Was just about to comment the same. Unfortunately, Weird West only became available this month as an essential game tier freebie; making sure that essential games get downloaded regularly as these could prove valuable later down the line! It never hurts to download as many essential tier titles as you possibly can because these will always remain yours to play later down the line!
