Starfield developers say that fans have a mistake when they say it’s boring
A year that’s provided us with a variety of fantastic video games, it’s said all the time that even Starfield Starfield struggled a bit to stand out from the pack following years of awaiting the debut.
This year’s competition has been so intense in the sense that Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG was not able to get the Game of the Year nomination at The Game Awards next month. It’s true that there are many different video game awards apart from Geoff Keighley’s program like the BAFTAs and the BAFTAs, which means it’s not the end-all-be-all.
However, Starfield is a wonderful game which plays similar to the likes of Elder Scrolls and Fallout out in the space. If this sounds like you, Starfield is worth taking a look at should you not have it yet. However, despite all the fun that can be had, last night we revealed that one Reddit user made a change to a setting which changed the way Starfield feels as if it was an entirely different game. If you’re not enjoying Starfield you’re not alone. It is possible that someone at Bethesda doesn’t like it.
According to a report reported via The VG247 website, Bethesda seems to be telling gamers that if they believe that the game is dull, that the game is boring and they’re using Starfield The game is wrong. It appears that Bethesda responded to a few criticisms of reviews on Steam. reviewers have written about the game.
“Bethesda has responded to criticisms of Starfield reviews in Steam. This is a complete surprise if one asks me, and despite the media’s attention, it hasn’t stopped. The most recent response was that of today.” tweeted JuiceHead33.
“Specifically, this is coming from Bethesda Customer Support, the same team to ask banned Fallout 76 players to write an essay to get unbanned (until media picked it up and they stopped),” they claim in a tweet that followed.
In one Steam user review, a criticism made by UptownMermaid was related to Starfield’s loading time to which Bethesda_FalcoYamaoka replied: “Just consider the amount of data for the expansive gameplay that is procedurally generated to load flawlessly in under three seconds. The fact that there are some issues is a hindrance to our players being lost in the world that we have designed.”
Another Steam user dared to call Starfield boring and Bethesda_FalcoYamaoka replied: “If you feel that things are getting boring, there is so much more to do than just the main mission! There are many other side-missions that will let you know more about the players and the story behind Starfield. It is possible to look around the planets for materials and other items.”
This Steam user believes that Starfield can feel soulless due to some of its empty planets, and yes, you’ve guessed it, Bethesda_FalcoYamaoka was at hand to reply once more. “We apologize that you don’t like the idea of landing on different planets but find that many are empty. The purpose behind “Starfield’s”exploration is to create an impression of numbness and smallness within gamers and cause them to feel overwhelmed” they stated.
To be fair to Bethesda_FalcoYamaoka, many of the points made in the replies are just, albeit very copy-and-paste. It comes off as somewhat naive and not the best impression for Bethesda and, judging from the feedback from users on this Steam thread, the players don’t seem to be too thrilled either.
Starfield is out now on PC and Xbox Series X|S. The game is also available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers at absolutely no cost.
