Lords of the Fallen’s Unreal Engine 5 conversion ruined the game
Lords of the Fallen has received positive reviews since its release. However, it has many bugs which need to be addressed. This was expected since the creator of the RPG states that the change to Unreal Engine 5 actually ‘broke the game.
An article on 4Chan claims to come from one of its creators and claims that the game was designed initially using Unreal Engine 4 in mind. It is also claimed by the developer that CiGames, as well as HexWork,s were too ambitious and ended up changing the game to Unrealfive,5 so this project might look more like an AAA game.
Moving on Unreal 5 damaged the Souls quite a bit. This is because many of the features had to be re-downgraded to ensure that all functions could function. Additionally, nobody in the development team has experience working with Unreal 5, assuming that they are correct that I, of course.
Developers have reportedly sought more time to develop Lords of the Fallen, but the request was rejected. Much like other titles released before it, the choice to make it available on the date of release was to satisfy investors who wanted to see the RPG release at a particular date.
Although things don’t look great in this new reboot, optimism isn’t over yet. In spite of the lack of expertise and the mangled release, The developers are trying to make improvements to the Soulslike. Devs also revealed plans to release two DLC expansions that will likely draw a lot of attention from Soulslike gamers.
Prior to this report that came out, we were all convinced this Xbox Series version would be the worst version of the title. It’s true; HexWorks claims that the PS5 as well as PC versions work okay, but the Xbox version requires work before getting to its level. If HexWorks’s angry developer is correct, the deficiency in the Unreal five experience and porting the version to Series S probably affected the general Xbox version.
