Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.4 brings party buffs to everyone
Every time a new batch of Final Fantasy XIV patch notes is released, players are curious if there have been any significant changes to their favorite job that could affect the way they perform. The patch 6.4 update is no exception, and there aren’t any major changes to the jobs.
The range of most jobs has been altered or their potency increased. These abilities have been given a range increase under “party buffs.” This was done to reduce the need for players to stay close to each other to get buffs.
‘s official patch 6.4 notes contain a complete list of all the changes to jobs. The following is a list of the changes made to each job and an explanation of how they were changed.
Final Fantasy XIV patch 6.4 introduces new tank jobs.
The Paladin and Warrior received a slight buff that allows them to catch up with Dark Knights. Warriors and Paladins are more durable, but they still lack a bit in DPS. This patch will fix this issue.
Gladiator/Paladin
- Riot Blade Potency has been increased from 120 to 140. Combo power has increased from 280 to 300.
- The circle of Scorn Potency has been increased to 120.
- The divine Veil Effect Radius has been increased from 15 yalms to 30 yalms.
- Royal Authority — Potency has been increased from 120 to 140. Combo potency was increased from 380 to 400.
- Atonement — Potency has been increased to 400.
Marauder/Warrior
- Storm’s Path- Power increased from 150 to 160. Combo Potency has increased from 430 to 440.
- Vengeance — The Vulnerability down status effect has been combined with Vengeance.
- Storm’s Eye — Potency has been increased by 150 points to 160. Combo potency has increased from 430 to 440.
- Fell Cleave Potency has increased from 490 g to 520 g.
- Upheaval Potency has increased from 370 to 400.
- Shake it Off — Effect radius has been increased from 15 yalms to 30 yalms.
- Inner Chaos: Potency has been increased to 660.
Dark Knight
- Dark Missionary — Effect radius has been increased to 30 yalms.
- Gunbreaker
- Keen Edge Potency has been increased from 170 to 200.
- Brutal shell – Potency has increased from 130 up to 160. Combo potency has increased from 270 to 300.
- Heart of Light — Effect radius has been increased from 15 to thirty yalms.
Healer jobs changed in Final Fantasy XIV patch 6.4
To the dismay of every healer, these changes to the role do not affect their range of healing skills. You will be yelled at by your healer if they don’t get close to you after the party slap, and you’ll be blamed if it’s not possible for you to stand in their AoE. The buffs have been increased, but the changes to the White and Sage DoTs, while minor, are still welcome.
White Mage
- Asylum — Effect radius has been increased to 15 yalms.
- Dia- Increased potency from 60 to 65. Damage over time has increased to 65.
- Temperance- Increased the range of damage reduction for self and other party members from 30 to fifty yalms.
Scholar
- Fey illumination — Effect radius has been increased from 15 yalms to 30 yalms.
- Sacred soil – The effect radius has been increased from 10 to 15.
- Tactics for Deployment- Increased the effect radius from 15 to thirty yalms.
- Seraphic illumination- Increased effect radius from 15 to thirty yalms.
- Consolation — Effect radius has been increased to 30 yalms.
- Expedient — Effect radius has been increased to 30 yalms.
Astrologer
- Divination — Effect radius has been increased to 30 yalms.
- Collective Unconscious- The range of the additional effect that reduces damage by 10% has been increased from 8 to 30, yalms. The duration of the additional effect that reduces damage is now 5 seconds. The effect is reapplied when you reenter the boundaries of the Collective Unconscious.
Sage
- Kerachole — Effect radius has been increased from 15 to thirty yalms.
- Physis II – Effect radius has been increased to 30 yalms.
- Holos — Effect radius has been increased from 15 yalms to 30 yalms.
- Panhaima — Effect radius has been increased from 15 yalms to 30 yalms.
- Eurasian doses III- Strength increased from 70 to 75.
- Final Fantasy XIV patch 6.4 introduces DPS changes.
DPS is mainly a matter of increasing range. Samurai, Black Mage, and Dragoon have all seen some minor changes in their potency. Dragoon has also received a very clever change that prevents him from jumping onto platforms and into AoEs. All the other jobs received party buffs, which are still nice. This will be welcomed by every DPS.
Pugilist/Monk
- Mantra — Effect radius has been increased from 15 yalms to 30 yalms.
- Brotherhood — Effect radius has been increased from 15 to thirty yalms.
Dragoon
- Jump Can be performed while bound. Jump no longer changes the position of the character as it is recognized by the Server, nor does the camera follow the character.
- Battle Litany — Effect radius has been increased from 15 yalms to 30 yalms.
- The Dragon Sight now nullifies the action directions for self.
- High jump Can be performed while bound. Jump no longer changes the position of the character as determined by the server. The camera no longer follows the character while executing High Jump.
Samurai
- Tenka Goken — Effect radius has been increased from 5 yalms to 8 yalms.
- Senei: Potency has been increased to 860 from 800.
- Goken: Effect radius has been increased to 8 yalms from the previous 5 yalms.
- Shoha Potency has increased from 520 up to 560.
- Ogi Namikiri Potency has been increased to 860.
- Namikiri: Potency has been increased to 860 from 800.
Reaper
- Arcane Circle — Effect radius has been increased from 15 to thirty yalms.
Bard
- Mage’s Ballad- The range of additional effects that Mage’s Ballad grants to yourself and your party members has been increased from 30 yalms to 50 yalms.
- Army’s Paeon The range of additional effects that can be granted to yourself and your party has been increased to 50 yalms.
- Battle Voice — Effect radius has been increased from 20 to thirty yalms.
- Wanderer’s Minuet- The range of additional effects granting Wanderer’s Minuet for self and other party members has been increased from 30 to fifty yalms.
- Troubadour — Effect radius has been increased from 20 to thirty yalms.
- Nature’s Minne — Effect radius has been increased from 20 to thirty yalms.
- Radiant finale — Effect radius has been increased to 30 yalms.
Machinist
- Tactician: The effect radius has been increased to 30 yalms.
Dancer
- Shield Samba — Effect radius has been increased from 20 to thirty yalms.
- Single Tech Finish- The range of the step bonus effect that grants Esprit and Technical Finish to yourself and your party has been increased from 15 yalms to 30 yalms.
- Double Tech Finish- The range of the step bonus effects that grant Esprit and Technical Finish to yourself and your party has been increased from 15 yalms to 30 yalms.
- Triple Tech Finish- The range of the step bonus effect that grants Esprit and Technical Finish to yourself and your party has been increased from 15 yalms to 30 yalms.
- Quadruple Tech Finish- The range of the step bonus effect that grants Esprit and Technical Finish to yourself and other party members has been increased from 15 yalms to 30 yalms.
Black Mage
- Xenoglossy – Potency has increased from 800 up to 880.
- Enochian III- Increased magic damage from 21 to 23 percent.
Summoner
- Searing Light — Effect radius has been increased from 15 to thirty yalms.
Red Mage
- Embolden- Increased effect radius from 15 to thirty yalms.
- Magick barrier — Effect radius has been increased from 15 to thirty yalms.
