Bungie Lifts NDA for Marathon Closed Alpha Ahead of April 23 Launch

Bungie has officially removed the NDA for *Marathon*’s upcoming Closed Alpha, allowing participants to freely share gameplay, opinions, and footage once testing begins on **April 23**.

The decision, announced on the game’s official Twitter account, marks a major shift from Bungie’s previous policy that restricted testers from discussing the game for five months. Now, players can stream, post, and provide open feedback as soon as the Closed Alpha goes live.

*Marathon* is a sci-fi extraction shooter where players take on the role of **Runners**, cybernetic mercenaries fighting to survive on the hostile planet **Tau Ceti 4**. The Closed Alpha will include core features like weapons and gunplay, PvP and PvE combat, early-game progression, maps, factions, and contracts. However, it will **not** include ranked play, polished visuals, the full UI, or end-game content.

Set to launch on **September 23** for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, *Marathon* is Bungie’s first new IP since *Destiny 2*, and a revival of its classic FPS series from the late 1990s. With *Destiny 2*’s main storyline concluding in 2024, all eyes are now on *Marathon* as Bungie’s next big title.
