Blue Prince Patch 1.01 Fixes Game-Breaking Save Bug
Developer Dogubomb has released Patch 1.01 for *Blue Prince*, fixing a major issue that could overwrite save files and erase player progress. The update is now available on PC and PlayStation 5, with an Xbox Series X|S release coming soon.
*Blue Prince*, released on April 10, has quickly become one of 2025’s most praised titles. The first-person exploration puzzle game follows Simon Jones as he navigates the ever-changing rooms of the Mount Holly estate to find a secret chamber and claim his inheritance.
Shortly after launch, some players encountered a serious bug that caused new save files to overwrite existing ones—especially after force-quitting the game. Patch 1.01 resolves this issue, ensuring that quitting the game this way no longer risks losing progress.
Other key fixes in the update include:
– Disabled the ability to back up, restore, or duplicate save files while issues are being investigated.
– Increased spawn rate for the battery pack, which powers certain puzzles.
– Fixed a bug preventing players from unlocking the safe in the shelter room.
– Adjusted the chances of rare “outer rooms” appearing during the daily room draft.
Dogubomb has stated that more updates are planned as they continue addressing remaining bugs.
*Blue Prince* is currently available on PlayStation Plus Extra and Xbox Game Pass, making it easily accessible to subscribers. The game remains one of the highest-rated titles on both platforms this year.
