Counter-Strike Global Offensive has officially taken off the market for the best.
Valve’s beloved first-person shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is officially left to the developers.
This is a sad day because even if it wasn’t the case that you’ve been a part of it, you’ve probably indeed heard about the game or played it on the internet. Counter-Strike Global Offensive is one of the most popular shooting games for tactical play for PC, as well as inspiring games such as Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege, and contributes to Twitch and YouTube video content.
There was also a game-based market that revolved around the skins of weapons. Each skin has a price and is available from loot boxes or can be sold for real money. The skin of a gun went for as much as $400,000 to demonstrate the seriousness of some individuals taking the matter.
Everything good has to have time to end, but like last year, when Valve declared that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive would be substituted by Counter-Strike 2. which is similar to Counter-Strike, with some key differences.
It was released on Steam with mixed reviews. It ended up getting the worst rating of the developer’s game despite being playable for free, just like the original game. The players have become more comfortable with it over the past few months. However, many fans would rather play the first, and unfortunately, Valve does not share that sentiment.
Both games are accessible through Stea.m It was also announced that the support of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was set to endon 1 January 2024. Additionally, the game has been upgraded to “legacy” status.
It means there won’t be any more updates to content or patches/fixes. There’s still the option to participate online; however, but not by using official matchmaking services. That means you’ll only have the option of playing on a server hosted by a community or going for Counter-Strike 2 instead.
It’s not an easy pill to swallow. However, it’s impossible to accomplish. Counter-Strike 2 is indeed excellent, and with a couple of post-launch updates, it’ll likely reach the same acclaim that the original game enjoyed over many years.
