A few video games are often overlooked in relation to sequels, remasters, or even remasters. This is what happened with Red Dead Redemption however, it at least was ported, though it was not the most impressive. What about technological wonders such as Days Gone? This is absolutely deserving of a sequel. But it is not in the works.

It’s already known, no matter how even as we attempt to hide this fact that Sony declined the proposal to make a sequel in the year 2019. This is a wound that isn’t completely healed, particularly due to the fact that Days Gone is gaining the most loyal fans and has an “very positive” rating on Steam. Although its first reception was mixed however, it appears to have gotten better in the years since its release.

But, even though the chance that a sequel will happen is extremely low and we’re not able to not help but ask Sony to consider a rethink. It’s not just because the plot isn’t finished, and also because this is an experience that blows people’s minds, when “300 zombies can be on screen with no slow-down”. This wasn’t always the same like it is today, there were a lot of bugs to be addressed in the initial week following the game’s release. The developers did their magic to fix these issues and leave gamers with a game that is memorable which deserves a second look.

“It had a great story,” stated an old-timer. “At an early point, about half-way in this game, one the characters on the side asks the protagonist Deacon what they do to live and why they go on. Deacon said, ‘Because there’s nothing else we going to do?’ That phrase made me cry and, as someone who suffers from depression it was very painful for me.”

Let’s face it: Deacon isn’t an idealist, and some of his characteristics being massive red flags soaring around. However, do the protagonists have to be perfect in order for their game to have sequels? We’d argue no. A lot of characters, in both films and games, haven’t been flawless, yet we continue to follow their story as we’re curious to know the next chapter.

It’s not a realistic possibility of the Days Gone sequel could ever happen, even though millions of fans would like to see it. However, at least we’ll be able to play the game we loved via Steam as well as PlayStation and that’s an improvement, at the very least.
