Modern Warfare 2 players are delighted with the high quality of the skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) which has decreased after Modern Warfare 3’s debut.

While a lot of focus is focused on Season 1 to Sledgehammer Games its latest version however, there are a few Call of Duty fans that continue to play the 2022 edition of Modern Warfare 2.

Season 6 for Modern Warfare 2 is in the final stage and, with those who prefer the slow game Infinity Ward’s servers remain awash with games across a variety of game modes. There are fewer players on the servers, and fans have been celebrating after more skilled players have switched to the latest version.

As per Reddit User Lumenprotoplasma, Modern Warfare 3 is “more casual than ever.”

The player claims: “Sweats migrated to MW3” which has led to a major change in SBMM gameplay’s logic. “Upside – fewer sweats, you don’t have to give your all in every match, and can try out new weapons,” states the player. However, there are some downsides. Lumenprotoplasma discloses: “Downside – with more casual players, there are more campers.”

Lumenprotoplasma isn’t the only one who noticed a difference within Modern Warfare 2 SBMM. One player says: “Came back after about a week and a half and I was dropping hella kills. It’s almost as if SBMM was removed.” Since there are fewer players, it’s a competition, some players are using unconventional weapons to dominate the scores. A fan says: “I’ve gotten my first 30 killstreaks while levelling a crossbow.”

Even though Modern Warfare 2 SBMM is superior to the original there’s still the possibility that you’ll encounter sweaty players who are focused on securing victory. “I’m playing both and I’ve had some super sweaty MW2 lobbies while trying to get to level up battle rifles,” says one player.

SBMM was a subject of discussion during all of the Modern Warfare 2 cycles. There are fewer players in the game, so perhaps you should revisit the latest version of Infinity Ward for those who want less of a casual Call of Duty experience until Modern Warfare 3 SBMM decides to ease off.
