First up is Woven Mail. Subclasses of Strand have abilities that allow for this short-term buff to resistance to damage. It initially offered 60% reduction in damage while playing during PVE. The damage reduction was cut by the update 7.2.0.1 down to 55 percent. Then it’s dropped to 45% resistance. It’s still a way to increase an overall level of resilience for a Guardian however the time of being near-invincible and fending off enemies’ shots has come to an end.

Following on from the cuts comes Restoration. It replenishes the health of shields and health with a predetermined amount of time when it is in use. This ability can be activated by several different methods for example, the healing grenade of a Warlock. If you’ve had the unfortunate experience of being victimized by Guardians with unlimited regeneration of health in the Crucible then you’ll understand exactly what we’re talking about.

There are two levels of restoration. Restoration 1 healed the player with 40 Health per Second (hp/s) within PVE and 20 health per second when playing PVP. It’s now down to 35hp/s and 17.5hp/s and 17.5hp/s respectively. Restoration x2 is also taking the brunt of this, falling from 65 HP/s in PVE to 32.5hp/s to from 50hp/s to 25hp/s.

Devour’s abilities, however, restore the player’s health after killings when it’s active. This is a common capability for Void subclasses, allowing them to be in the middle of combat with no risk. The healing effects are being decreased by 50%, from 200hp (a fully-loaded health bar) to just 100hp. It’s an important difference but Voidwalkers who have that Feed the Void aspect excluded are still able to receive the full health effect.

Then, Well of Radiance and Ward of Dawn both get an enlargement. They are both defensive-focused Supers which give players a chance to become virtually invincible when playing. These Supers do not change, but their cooldown durations increase from 417 seconds up to 455 secs. This may appear to be an insignificant change, however it could be an entire round of difference during Trials of Osiris or damage times on bosses in raids. Bungie revealed that they may make modifications in order to make the two Super abilities different from each other.
