Call of Duty: Activision review ‘great’ Modern Warfare 3 response, infuriating everyone

It’s not every day that fandom gets slammed by the publishers, however, it appears that Activision is always willing to be surprising. Keep your hats on people, as this is a claim that the reception for Modern Warfare III was “great “… Yeah, this is a major head-scratcher for us also.

It’s not like anyone requires reminding however, just in case that you do, ever since the release of the MWIII the players have expressed their disappointment. It’s not just one of the games that Metacritic has rated as one of its worst in 2023, but the game is said to have made Warzone “unplayable” to a wide range of players. There is there is nothing in the media coverage thus has suggested that the game is not popular with gamers.

But, as it’s Activision or Sledgehammer Games are concerned, this has been an amazing launch. “We’re amazed by the initial reactions. Positive feedback makes our efforts worth the effort,” said Sledgehammer Games’ Zach Hodson, before declaring, “And we use the negativity to motivate us to get the best fixes and enhancements to the game as soon as we are able to. Don’t forget to share your feedback!”

Another thing mentioned in the Xbox blog post is that the response to this game will make Sledgehammer Games “proud”, which again seems like a lie based on all the information available. It is interesting to note that a large portion of the positive vibe Hodson says is due to the beta version of the game, “The Beta gave us so much data to trust our instincts and deliver to the players what we wanted to see as fans of Call of Duty.” The company added, “In the Beta, it became clear that we didn’t need to dial back our instincts and we could let the natural, physically based materials shine in their full glory while maintaining the realism the franchise is known for.”

Strange that it is that the Beta can be the model to this apparent success, even though it’s out of Beta at present. Maybe that’s why Activision and others believe they have received feedback that is “great”, while the majority of us are puzzled by this claim.

Another aspect that devs as well as publishers are convinced to be successful is the multiplayer element of the game They are noting that “In between the launch and Beta, our QA Analysts, Designers and Engineers have worked in tandem in all areas of spawns in order to fix the problems players had been experiencing. The work we put into it was worth it, though there’s always more improvement expected.” It’s not to suggest that the spawns haven’t been improved, but the information here isn’t in line with what gamers are saying about it.
