With 2023 coming towards a close, Petroglyph has unveiled an updated version of the adored classic from 2006, Star Wars Empire at War: Gold Edition. Petroglyph returns to the game every several years, and has been working hard to release a patch that updates each of Star Wars: Empire at War and its companion game Forces of Corruption to support 64-bit technology, which will enhance the game’s compatibility with modern platforms.

Petroglyph claims that the latest version is designed to fix the recurring “Out of Memory” errors which players playing on modern platforms have been experiencing for a long time. This update will not just improve the performance of the game, but allow modder teams to have an opportunity to build bigger-scale battles as well as get smoother frame rates because of the extra memory available.
