An insider has claimed that, despite recent news reports, the upcoming Naughty Dog: The Last of Us multiplayer game has been altogether canceled.

The year has been challenging for Naughty Dog in terms of the production of games. HBO’s television adaptation of The Last of Us The Last of Us was an enormous success, but it’s not where it ends. The Last of Us Part I’s launch on PC was, to say, catastrophic. The glitch- and bug-ridden issue made the game unplayable for many.

The forthcoming The Last of Us multiplayer project was initially scheduled to debut in the summer of 2012. However, it was delayed for a long time. In the meantime, the studio announced that they’re developing a brand new single-player project. One insider hints at a new Mass Effect-style IP called The Last of Us Part II andake of The Last of Us Part II. However, we’re learning more about the game’s multiplayer version.

The anticipated The Last of Us multiplayer was supposed to debut at the summer PlayStation Showcase but was not there. The only thing we’ve seen has been concept art. Then, in late May, Naughty Dog released an official statement: “We’ve realized what is best for the game is to give it more time.” There were reports that a rival studio, Bungie, was concerned about the length of time the game would last in an outside review.

Bloomberg then claimed that the team’s roster had been reduced in size. Then, just the week before, a second report said that the match had been put “on ice,” although the game was still not canceled altogether. The news came out as Naughty Dog laid off several of its contracted employees. Monetization is the central theme of the game. Anders Howard, who’d come into the studio from Epic and was rumored to have left the game this week.

The insider ViewerAnon claims that the game will be canceled entirely, tweeting, “It’s dead.” ViewerAnon was the first source to release preliminary details about the third installment. Still, it’s yet to be determined if the claims are truthful, so consider the information with a grain of salt. If you look at the cold and data, however, this doesn’t look great for the sport.

It’s a pity that Naughty Dog fans haven’t received an original and unique game since 2020. the trend is likely to remain the case if 2 will be next diseased. We’ll keep you in the loop on developments.
