Call of Duty leak potentially uncovers future crossovers
It’s no secret that the Call of Duty brand has been around for a while and is not a stranger to crossover. No matter what it is, Modern Warfare 2 or Warzone, Activision has regularly joined forces in the worlds of television films, comics, and books.
Season six of the multiplayer and battle royale game is in full swing. The most recent update to the seasonal season brought many Halloween-themed skins that include many well-known characters. The Diablo partnership lets players jump into battle with characters such as Lilith and Inarius.
Every season brings about a variety of leaks. This season is no exception. Recent leaks have revealed that the next crossover will be announced in the next release.
Call of Duty Dune crossover leaks
According to the renowned leaker @leakers141, Call of Duty is set to join forces with Warner Bros.’ hugely popular Dune film.
In the archives of Modern Warfare 2, a Dune Part Two Sardaukar Pack includes blueprints of weapons and an Operator skin that looks like a spacesuit. Based on the feedback, the pack is full of enthusiasm. One participant declares: “When is this available? This is dope.”
In addition to fueling the fire, some gamers could see the now removed loading screen that included a picture of Arrakis, which is the location of the Fremen, where most of the films and novels are made.
It’s possible that the files were planned to be released along with Dune: Part Two, which was initially scheduled to launch on the 3rd of November, 2023. However, with the film due to be released on the 15th of March 2024, it’s not clear when it’s likely that the Call of Duty collaboration will never see the light of day.
The crossover might occur within this Modern Warfare 3 cycle, but we’ll have to find out what Activision plans to do.
It’s always important to be cautious and take leaks with a dose of caution until the publisher of Call of Duty divulges more information.
