Publisher Paradox Interactive, as well as developer Colossal Order, today announced their decision to put off the release of the console edition of their upcoming city-building game Cities: Skylines 2 until the following year.

Cities: Skylines 2 is now scheduled to be released for the Xbox Series X/S and PS5 sometime in the Spring of 2024.

Cities: Skylines 2 Console Version Delayed

“We are working to prepare the game for its launch on October 24,” the publisher states.

“While making this change, we’ve recognised that we require more extended time to meet our quality goals. To ensure the most enjoyable experience for our customers, we’re changing the release window of Xbox and PS5 up to the Spring of 2024. This additional time allows us to ensure that we match the level of performance and quality across every platform. ”

More information regarding Cities: Skylines II’s console release window will be released “soon. ”

This game’s PC version has not been affected by the decision, and it is close to launching in less than a month in 2023, on October 24. The game’s required system specifications and minimum requirements have been revised.

While the delayed release of Cities Skylines II’s console edition is bound not to please those interested in getting it for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, it hopefully ensures that when it launches next year, it will launch without problems with optimization.
