Everyone remembers the days when choosing one of the most hilarious gamertags was an act of pure comedy. Yet, Microsoft has seemingly decided the game is done telling an Xbox player to alter their username.

In a recently posted Reddit article posted on the r/XboxSeriesX site, One person revealed that they had received an email from Microsoft telling them that their Gamertag was banned and they needed to find a different one. It is understandable under many situations, but the person that is in question had the same Gamertag for 7 years. This is why “Satan Farted” is no longer considered to be appropriate. This can lead to others offering their suggestions.

It’s understandable that Microsoft has begun to crack down on games with inappropriate names as a result of some shady liars only feeling happy when posting slurs on the internet. One comment states, “Claiming that Satan had gastric troubles is no longer fashionable,” whilst others are trying to determine whether Microsoft’s problems lie with the phrase “Satan” or “Farted”. Some users even believe this is “because you’re no longer 12”. You can guess this has sparked some discussion on Reddit.

Xbox gamertags can be as long as at least 12 characters long, not including spaces, and must begin with a number. One player claims that there was a limit of 15 characters, but it was altered around the when that the PC Game Pass was added. “To be accommodating to the new players They changed the limit so it is possible to pick any name, however in the event that it’s already been taken the random number is displayed after. In essence, in order to keep the numbers within the previous 15 characters limit, the new Gamertags must be less than 15 characters long” The company stated.

It’s not clear what happens Satan Farted is going to contest Microsoft’s decision, but at least until then, they’ll need to put their head in the game.
