PlayStation Plus’ controversial free game has attracted a large variety of players
Despite the low response to September’s no-cost PlayStation Plus games, one game is drawing the attention of a large number of gamers.
PlayStation Plus is constantly being attacked by its fans who are not happy with the current status. PlayStation’s subscription service was recently hit with an increase in cost increase it claimed was designed to increase the quality of services offered to gamers.
Some fans have denied this statement by claiming PlayStation has been not able to justify the cost of the new game with disappointing additions to its diverse game catalogs. The Essential Tier offerings of September particularly frightened players, because the selection included Saints Row, Black Desert Traveler Edition, and Generation Zero, three titles that were not up to par with the expectations set by users.
But, Saints Row is now quite well-liked. The game was initially met with severe criticism upon its launch due to it being inferior to the first trilogy. Unfortunately, it will be a thing of the past because the developers have stated they have no plans of remaking one of the games.
But despite that, it performed fairly well when it comes to simultaneous players. The initial spike in players came from players who were trying to get gratuitous PlayStation Plus points, and also a little doubt about whether it was as good as some claimed it to be.
A surprising twist of events, however, Saints Row has maintained 86 percent of its players during the second week of its release as a free-to-play title. It’s unclear if this is due to players playing the game and enjoying it or just playing since they don’t have anything other than it is an open issue, but it’s a bit remarkable however.
Also, the company that developed Saints Row, Volition was closed down recently, with immediate effect. It was because Volition’s reboot was not enough of a success as the studio had hoped, which left its future for the game uncertain.
