PlayStation unveils its brand new console
The PlayStation Showcase is over and the hardware has been announced, but it was not the redesigned PS5 with a detachable drive that many insiders had teased for months. PlayStation is reentering the portable console market.
Here’s a recap of some of the most thrilling reveals from last night. We finally received a trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The people at Insomniac Games were very clever in keeping the Kraven The Hunter reveal a secret. The game has me ecstatic. Even though we still don’t have a date for release, the gameplay is fantastic. We got our First Look at The Assassin’s Creed Mirage Gameplay, which was a surprise. And the long-rumored Remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 has also been confirmed. I had to think a while before I figured out what the trailer meant. But let’s get back to the hardware news. Project Q will be released soon.
Project Q, the newest PlayStation handheld, allows you to enjoy your favorite titles using PS5 Remote Play. It’s a hybrid of a DualSense and Nintendo Switch in both terms of aesthetics and functionality. It features a tablet-like display flanked with two halves from a DualSense Remote, allowing you to enjoy the full capabilities of DualSense on the move.
Jim Ryan, the Sony CEO, said that “innovation is our passion and it applies not only to what you play but also how you play.” We will release a new device later this year that allows you to stream games from your PS5 via Wi-Fi. It is internally known as Project Q and has an 8-inch HD screen with all the features and buttons of the DualSense Wireless Controller. “We look forward to releasing more details in the future.”
As he said it was ‘internally called’ Project Q I imagine we will get a snazzy new name very soon. We also do not have an official release date, only that it will be “later in the year”. This product will become a PlayStation fan’s must-have. I want it.
