Steam has issued refunds for an accident that occurred on the platform.

According to Comicbook.com reported that this is exactly what happened with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out of the Shadows when it appeared to relaunch on Steam.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out of the Shadows, developed by Red Fly Studio for Xbox 360 and PC in August 2013 was released on PlayStation 3 by Activision in April 2014.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, is not an excellent game. Metacritic gave it a score of 38 for critics and 5.4 for users. It’s still the Four Heroes in a Half-Shell we are talking about, so some fans will take any opportunity to sample that Turtle Power ooze.

Out of the Shadows, which was released in digital format only four years ago, has been removed from storefronts due to Activision’s decision not to renew the TMNT license. Out of the Shadows appeared suddenly on Steam and some users bought it.

Steam began refunding its customers for those who purchased the game and realized its error. Will Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out of the Shadows ever return? This is unlikely and, to be honest with you, it’s a game best played in the shadows.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Shredder’s Revenge game is a brilliant example of a modern masterpiece. We said it in our review: “A wonderful way to make a style that has been well-trodden into a new and exciting direction, while still making the trip as special as the destination.”

Another Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game, -inspired by Santa Monica Studios God of War, is also on its way.
