Super Mario Sunshine deserves a sequel, fans say
Mario has been Nintendo’s iconic character for many years. He’s also appeared in a number of fantastic games. You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who hasn’t played one at least once in their lives.
In 2020, Super Mario celebrated its 35th Anniversary. To celebrate, Nintendo launched Super Mario 3D All-Stars, a collection of 3D Mario classics remastered for Nintendo Switch. Super Mario Sunshine, the GameCube game from 2002 wasn’t well received by fans at the time. But nostalgia is working its magic and sunshine has become more popular than ever.
Reddit users are now eager to play a sequel to Sunshine. “The soothing tropical setting and strangely satisfying goop-cleaning mechanics of Super Mario Sunshine, is something that I miss,” wrote Startled_Pancakes. It’s been long enough for a sequel to be able to shine with improved graphics and innovations that have come from recent Mario games. Are you interested in seeing a sequel?
a lot of people say: “I would f**king scream.” I loved Sunshine as a kid and would melt into tears if there was a sequel. Therealmanfetus1 responded. It makes sense to have a Switch 2 launch game. With updated graphics and a positive atmosphere, it could be amazing! People love PowerWash. It would become a classic, I believe,” said Picknicksje85. “Heck yeah. as fredman266 agreed, “That was my second Mario game and also my favorite.”
Unfortunately, the original Sunshine is still difficult to play, let alone a sequel. The anniversary collection, despite its remastered version in All-Stars, is not available on the Nintendo Switch’s eShop or in retail stores. Sunshine can only be purchased on the original hardware unless you are willing to pay online for inflated prices.
