Preview: New FFXIV patch 6.4 gear including the Anabaseios Raid Set, Crafted and Tombstone sets
Square Enix gave a sneak peek at the gear that will be coming in patch 6.4 for Final Fantasy XIV last week. This was a second in-depth of the patch. It is set to be released on May 23, 2018. Naoki Yoshida, creative director of FFXIV and the lead producer held pieces of paper in front to show off each set.
New gear includes sets that players can obtain by trading the Allagan Tomestones for Comedy, crafted gear, and sets they will find in Pandaemonium’s final raid, Anabaseios. Market Board fans may want to focus on the new, crafted gear. Two of the set’s aesthetics are similar to what players have become accustomed to in this patch cycle.
Patch 6.4 Pandaemonium Anabaseios Raid Gear
The first is all the new Raid Gear. The gear drops from Pandaemonium Anabaseios – the last wing of this Raid Tier and the ending of Hephaistos’s story. Pandaemonium Abyssos was the Raid Gear for Tier 4. It had a huge swing. Darkened armor in red and black with burning flame accents spoke to the Raid name “abyss”.
The next time, we’re going to hell. These new Anabaseios sets are white and blue with floating crystals replacing the flames. This set is geared towards a possible redemption at the end. The Savage armor set is likely to be dyeable as opposed to standard single-color armor.
With the new patch, there will be some changes to Raid rewards. The Savage Coffers no longer rewards duplicate armor for the same slots, and the body slot will be dropped from the Third Floor (The Eleventh Circle). Square Enix has also reduced the amount of Mythos Books required to obtain each piece. The number of Mythos III and IV books required to exchange the body part drops to six, while that for leg gear is eight Mythos III. Accessory books are switched from 4 Mythos I to 3 Mythos I. Mythos IV is also exchangeable for lower Mythos at a rate of 1:1.
Tomestone Gear Patch 6.4
The Tombstone Gear Set is next, and players can purchase it with the new Allagan Tomestones for Comedy. These tomestones, like previous patches, will be dropped from higher-level Expert and Raid options in the Duty Finder daily. This patch has a lot of flowing robes, and it’s a bit more colorful than the tomestone set.
These weapons also have a unique quality in that the designs were created as part of a previous Weapon Design Contest.
