Fumi Games’ upcoming MOUSE might be the perfect game for you if you enjoy FPS but aren’t satisfied with how much Steamboat Willie has influenced BioShock.

After its Steam launch, the indie FPS gained some traction on social media. Its captivating art style inspired by 1930s rubber hose cartoons (think Cuphead), immediately stood out in news feeds. Look at it.

Mouse is a retro-action adventure that combines cartoon animation with retro style. Retro shooter inspired by 30s rubber-hose animation, classic noir and classic style. This retro experience will lead you through an exciting journey in a corrupt and dangerous city.

You can take down enemies with the Revolver and other mid-century weapons like Tommy Guns, Carcanos, Hammers, Dynamite etc. Mouse lets you choose how you want to fight. Whether it’s by running and shooting, jumping and dodging, or planning your attack, you can use the game to your advantage.

You can upgrade weapons and skills to make them even more lethal with Fantastic-o-Matic’s power-up system. Find the vending machine scattered around the city, and select the power-ups which best fit your style of play.

Be warned, the city has a lot of betrayal and danger. You’ll have to be able to keep your head and stay alert in order for you survive. You’ll discover more about the plot with each step and become entangled in a deadly web of lies and murder.

Gear up and get ready for battle in this retro shooter. It will lead you to an incredible adventure.

Mouse has no release date yet, and it’s still some time away judging by the lack of levels. We wouldn’t be shocked if it were to a) get a new name to make it easier to find and b), that Disney’s attorneys started demanding a piece of the cheese.
