This review will be updated to include the DLC. Let me quickly get to the point. I give this game a 9.8/10. Buy it on sale or not. The ost is fantastic, as well as the story. It’s fluid and responsive as water, which I can highly recommend. I have spent 28 hours on Furi, achieved every achievement, and completed both the story-mode Furi and Fourier difficulty, which was later made with S ranks. I have an S in a speedrun, and all endings, even secret, were achieved. It would be an understatement to say that I tried my best to get the most from this game.
Furi is the only full story-based game I’ve ever replayed. It was thrilling to put myself in the shoes of “The Stranger” and seek sweet, sweet revenge on those who have held me captive. Although the story seemed bare-bones at times, my second playthrough revealed that I was too busy trying to avoid getting sliced, shot, and burned (looking at “The Scale”). The more important elements of the story flew through my mind. Even the most essential difficulty was difficult for me. I was constantly on edge, hoping the next guardian would be less or more severe than the one I had just beaten. But, every time, I was wrong. The game’s incredible replayability has given me no excuse but to play it again.
