The idea for Untitled Goose Game was born from a stock photo of a goose that House House employees posted in their internal communications. A conversation about geese sparked the idea. However, the team left the idea behind for several months before realizing it could be fun. House was inspired by Super Mario 64, the Hitman series, creating humorous in-game scenarios using stealth mechanics.
The developers remade their trailer’s piano score to respond to game events. They received positive feedback. It was a last-minute choice to prepare the game as an entry for a games festival. The unusual name has remained. It’s a beautiful morning in the village, and you are a terrible goose.
Untitled Goose Game is a slapstick stealth sandbox where you are a goose let loose on an unsuspecting village. You will be making your way through the town, going from people’s back gardens to the high-street shops to the village green. Here you’ll set up pranks and steal hats.
