It’s hard to imagine a modern game that has failed quite as badly as Battlefield2042. Cyberpunk2077 was a mess when it first came out, but recent updates have made it a much more appealing title.

The same cannot be said about EA’s struggling FPS. Zero Hour, the first season of the game, went live last month. It brought with it new weapons and a map, and, as you would expect, has seen player counts rise significantly. This doesn’t mean that the number of players was small in the beginning.

Steam Charts shows that the current 24 hour concurrent player peak for Battlefield 2204 is 7,636 at the time of writing. You may recall that fell into triple-digit territory in April – 976 to exact. The current numbers are impressive in comparison. These numbers are seven times larger than they were before.

The numbers for other games in the series are a lot less impressive. Battlefield 1 (not 2002’s Battlefield 1942), has a peak 24-hour peak of 8,606 while Battlefield V, which is the 10th installment in the series, has a peak 24-hour peak peak of 16,391. It’s, uh, quite a difference.

Battlefield 3 will likely see an increase in players by the end of this week. This is due to the all-new reality mod that launched on 17 July. This fan-made project was years in the making and will completely revamp the gameplay and UI to make it more tactical and realistic. It’s really great. You should definitely check it out.
