Mortal Kombat Boss has some bad news for fans about future games
Mortal Kombat is a video game that was so disturbing that it changed the law. This year marks its 30th anniversary. Unfortunately, we don’t have any good news.
Rumors and speculation have swirled about Mortal Kombat12 being in development, but nothing has been confirmed. Since the ninth installment, a reboot called Mortal Kombat was released; NetherRealm Studios have been in charge of the fighting series and have maintained a regular schedule. The studio has released a Mortal Kombat or Injustice title every two years since 2011.
2021 was a year without any news from either of the fighting giants. However, employees voiced concerns about the company after Mortal Kombat 11 was released. They also accused the company of having poor working conditions due to the hectic release schedule.
Since then, the company has promised to decrease “crunch time,” which may have caused the slowdown in a release. Fans are happy to see developers have a better work/life balance. However, they are still curious about the company’s plans.
Ed Boon, the thstudio’s creative directorio, tweeted out to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the series with some hilarious behind-the-scenes footage of the martial arts. Fans asked the Mortal Kombat Veteran about the series. Here is where one player chose to take his shot.
Boon replied, “Soon?” We hope that the devs are being taken care of better.
