Elden Ring fixes Bestial Sanctum bug to Make You Have Cinquedea Once More.
Elden Ring players will finally be able to get the Cinquedea dagger and Dragoncrest Shield Timalan with Patch 1.03.2. The mysterious “kill plane”, which was supposed to be in effect, is now gone.
People used to be able to find these items under the Bestial Sanctum. After a major gameplay balance update, Patch 1.03 changed just a few days. To obtain the items, players must fall down a series of roots and towers just left of the Bestial Sanctum. This secret church in Caelid can be used to acquire “Beast Incantations.” The area was also given a “kill plane,” an invisible floor that makes your character feel like they are dying from fall damage. This effectively removed Cinquedea and Dragoncrest Shield Talisman from the game for those who didn’t have them.
It was a mistake. FromSoft has now fixed the problem and can confirm that both hidden items have been made available for purchase again. Exit the Bestial Sanctum and then drop down on the root to your northwest (i.e., if you face the main gate, the church will be on your left. After more controlled falls, the items can be found on the third floor — exactly where they were before. Although the Dragoncrest Shield Talisman can be useful, it has better alternatives later in-game. The Cinquedea, a dagger that boosts Beast Incantations when equipped, was much more unusual. It’s great to have them back!
Another highlight of the patch notes was fixing the “infinite fall” hack that some players used to “teleport others to wrong map coordinates.” The victim’s game would crash immediately. When players log back in, they will be stuck in an endless falling loop beneath the game’s world. This could cause saves to be destroyed since they can’t fast travel or die to reach a Site of Grace.
Of course, you could avoid all invasions. Elden Ring players must opt into invasions, unlike Dark Souls. Furlcalling Finger Remedy is one example. This item is required to summon coop partners. However, it was not ideal for everyone. It’s nice to see the quick fix.
This comes just a few days after the hubbub about an exploit Dark Souls 3 that fans attempted to warn developers about during the build to Eldering. It’s never dull when you make these games.
Finally, I am actually selfishly glad that there aren’t any balance updates. I’ve just completed tier lists of Ashes of War and Incantations. I put up one of these lists about five minutes before the surprise balance patches. I want to take a break from them before I have to do it all again.
