Thanks to eagle-eyed gamers spotting new ESRB ratings it seemed only a matter of time before The Ascent would arrive on PS4/PS5. It’s now.
The Ascent, a cyberpunk-themed shooter-RPG, is what you need to know. You can play it solo or with your friends. There’s nothing better than a game that is cyberpunk-themed. Well, hm. This one was released first for Xbox consoles in July. It is an impressive debut by Neon Giant, a Swedish dev team.
Eurogamer has reported that the game will launch on Sony consoles on March 24, as previously reported. Nice!
Arcade Berg, co-founder and creative director at Neon Giant, stated that they have been overwhelmed by the incredible response to The Ascent so far on Xbox, PC and Xbox.
“We are delighted to be bringing this game to a new audience, PlayStation players,” Arcade Berg said. We started The Ascent out of a love for making games. We want to share the game with as many people as possible so that they can enjoy it as much as we.
This is not all. There’s also a new DLC pack (the Cyber Warrior DLC) and a free New Game+ mode. New Game+ adds new enemies and new weapons to the game. There is also a higher level cap on both weapons and characters, which allows you to reach greater heights than ever before.
PlayStation users will not be able to cross-platform play. This means that you won’t have the ability to play with Xbox friends. PlayStation seems determined to compete with Xbox in every way lately.
It has been announced that PlayStation Now will see its first day one release next month to the service. This, you know, Game Pass has been around for a while now but it’s better late than never.
