Dead Island 2: News, Release Date, and All We Know So Far
Dead Island 2 has been delayed since its inception. Since its announcement, we have had very little other than a few vague promises. Dead Island, originally launched in 2011, was a huge success for Deep Silver Publishers. This was mostly due to an amazing trailer that didn’t reflect the game’s tone at all.
A sequel was announced in 2014, but it has yet to be released. A five-year-old playable gameplay demo was recently leaked to the internet for fans to see what it could have been or still could be. The next generation of gaming could bring some big opportunities to the zombie title with the Xbox Series X/PS5 consoles. What’s the story? What do we know?
This is a bit surprising, but not unexpected. Tom Henderson, a well-known leaker, has just released a report suggesting that Dead Island 2 may still be alive. It’s kind of.
For the complete report, we recommend that you watch the video below. Henderson states that the game is currently in a “decent state” and will be released soon. This would likely be before a Q4 2022 release window or early 2023 release window.
Henderson mentions a few plot spoilers, which we won’t share here. However, it is clear that gameplay has improved since 2015’s leaks. We are now many years after the original first glimpses of the game.
Deep Silver confirmed that E3 2021 would not reveal any E3 secrets to fans. The Publisher wrote to fans via Twitter:
em, Data-v-0ffa3cb9 Our parent company @KochMedia_HQ will announce #SummerGamesFest, on June 11th. You won’t find Dead Island or Saints Row Metro, TimeSplitters at this event (or other E3 2021 events). We will let you know when there is new information. “
Deep Silver has made it clear that the game is still in development.
One Twitter fan asked if Dead Island was coming. Another fan replied that he should “Give up man”.
Deep Silver replied, “We wouldn’t be so sure about this!” “.
It will be fascinating to see how this game has developed and compares to 2014 Gamescom gameplay.
