Final Fantasy XIV has a fantastic storyline and endgame content worth your time. And all these thanks to Yoshi-P, a specific person.

Final Fantasy XIV, nearly a decade after its difficult road to redemption, has shown that it can deliver the best MMOs/JRPGs have to offer time and again. It is not exaggerated that Yoshi-P and Director Naoki Yoshida have created a fantasy world full of wonder and stories. There has been an increase in account logins since the latest expansion, Endwalker – most likely because players are curious about the reason for all the chaos.

Even the most well-known game developers, directors and companies can stumble from time to time (looking at CD Projekt RED), mainly if it is an online game. But not Yoshida. Despite all the turmoil in his past, Yoshida had maintained consistency when updating, releasing new extensions, and so forth. How does he innovate when new ideas are rare in gaming?

Keep it humble

Yoshi-P doesn’t appreciate people who play World of Warcraft. This is a well-known fact. Final Fantasy 14 director claimed that his game would not have existed without Blizzard’s MMO. He also said that comparing the two titles was a bad idea. You’ve probably heard about all the drama at Blizzard. With all the reports of sexual harassment and racism. It’s not surprising that World of Warcraft has enjoyed some success lately. Many players have made the jump to Final Fantasy XIV to create an FFXIV account, which is a testimony to the current state of WoW. Popular streamers have announced their retirement from “the greatest MMO of all times” and will now move to greener pastures, with more Final Fantasy-er fields.

Square is the best place to describe the situation of Final Fantasy XIV. Final Fantasy XIV, with its concurrent player count of Steam soaring in the mid-2021 and World of Warcraft suffering a slow death, is the forgotten brother you didn’t know that stepped up to help your family struggling to make ends meet. Yoshida doesn’t mind having a conversation about the rivalry between these two games. He gave a thoughtful speech during a 14-hour stream in July 2021. Yoshi-P quickly clarified that his game has not “beaten” Blizzard when it was reported that Final Fantasy 14 was more prevalent in 2021 than World of Warcraft.

Giving credit where credit is due

A Realm Reborn would not exist without World of Warcraft. Blizzard knows this, and Naoki Yoshida said it. He certainly does not mind crediting where credit is due. The topic of World of Warcraft is challenging to discuss these days. This is especially true if you want to avoid discussing the company’s shady side. Yoshi-P explained that WoW was a game he and his team looked up to for inspiration. At first, their goal was to create a Final Fantasy version of World of Warcraft. They didn’t want to say that they lost or won to WoW because that was the game they wanted to play.

Transparency and Honesty: A breath of fresh air in today’s Gaming Industry

Naoki Yoshida made a new year announcement to celebrate the 2022 start. This is a long-standing tradition at Square Enix. It’s refreshing to see game directors show some honesty and goodwill.

Yoshi-P, the director and producer of Final Fantasy XIV, shared details about the game’s 2022 journey in his message. Final Fantasy XIV will be undergoing a complete overhaul, he said. The MMO will also see a new story before the next update. FFXIV is not over. Yoshida has been leading the creation of new adventures for the Warriors of Light – adventurers, more accurately – which is great news for active players who play the game every day.

Last Remarks

Yoshi-P is a significant reason for Final Fantasy 14’s success. This is especially true after the collapse of FFXIV 1.0 just before A Realm Reborn. He is a very likeable person, and his hard work is well-received. We are often struck by how he praises WoW and stresses its importance. This is something we don’t see very often from other producers and game directors who would rather say, “of course we’ll exceed it, we’re better than that!” What do you think of Naoki Yoshida’s performance? Please let us know your thoughts below!
