EA Announces Cancellation of Star Wars: Battlefront 3
EA had earlier stated that Respawn Entertainment was working on three Star Wars games. However, DICE’s rumoured Star Wars Battlefront 3 has been reportedly cancelled.
VentureBeat reports that EA is shifting Star Wars games to Respawn as a sign of ending their licensing agreement. DICE worked on Star Wars: Battlefront for EA. Now, DICE is focusing on the Battlefield franchise. Ubisoft, Quantum Dream previously announced new games for this series.
EA reports that Star Wars Battlefront 3 has been cancelled
There was a lot of criticism about EA’s Battlefront games. The first Battlefront entry was criticized for its expensive Season Pass. Battlefront 2 was a mess with character costs and loot box controversy. Despite numerous updates, Battlefront 2’s fan reception has improved significantly since its launch.
Although there is no information on the release date of Respawn’s Star Wars games, rumours suggest Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 may be out later in the year. Star Wars Battlefront II is now available on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
