So, it’s official. Battlegrounds made the transition from paid to play. There is no reason to not play it now, except to try to keep some spare time in your day.

You do have one excuse to not be playing at the moment, which is because server maintenance is ongoing. You have less than 24 hours before you lose your balance and get sucked into the web.

Every player can play the game free of charge, but you can also purchase a BATTLEGROUNDS PLUS account. A one-time purchase of PS9.99 will get players a lot of bonus features, such as ranked mode, the ability to create custom matches, or some exclusive items.

You won’t be forgotten if you have purchased the game before. Existing players will receive the PUBG Special Commemorative Package. This includes a free BATTLEGROUNDS PLUS upgrade.

Additional rewards include a set of costume skins and a Special Commemorative Package. This is a slightly different offer depending on the platform. PlayStation and Steam users must have already purchased the game, while Xbox and Stadia users must have completed setting up their ingame nicknames before the free-to-play transition. Any avid gamers don’t have to be concerned.

The team announced that the game would go free-to-play on December 10, last year. They stated: “BATTLEGROUNDS Free to Play Now gives us the chance to expand our community and bring all of the thrills to everyone while providing new friends and faster matchmaking and, let’s face it, more targets to our existing players.”

Will you take the plunge or stay far away? My backlog is far too large to even consider entering a new battle Royale. But you never know. Perhaps just one.
