Insider: ‘GTA 6’ Will Be This Generation’s Only Rockstar Game
According to insiders, Grand Theft Auto VIis likely to be the last Rockstar title to arrive on this generation of consoles.
We have not received any official updates from Rockstar Gaming on the long-awaited GTAVI. Multiple reports indicate that the game is in development. However, it is not clear when Rockstar will release the game.
Recently, a well-known Battlefield leaker Tom Henderson suggested that GTA VII might not be available until 2025. Some have suggested that development has become a “mess” and that the game’s work has been restarted multiple times.
It is not surprising, then, to find out that Rockstar has decided to release the game on both the Xbox Series and PlayStation 5. This is according to AccountNGT who claimed on Twitter that GTA VII will be the only game Rockstar releases this generation.
This information should be taken with a huge pinch of salt. AccountNGT might not be aware of Rockstar’s plans. Rumours have been circulating that Rockstar has relaunched the development of Bully, which could mean that we may get at least two games from the developer.
It is worth noting, however, that Red Dead Redemption II was the only new Rockstar game to be launched on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One (if we exclude remasters). It’s reasonable to suppose that GTAVI would be the PS5/Xbox Series’ only Rockstar title. Heck, it’s unlikely that the company would ever need to release anything again to make a profit, after GTAVI.
