AMD announces brand-new Ryzen 6000 notebook APUs

AMD CEO Dr Lisa Su took to the stage at CES to announce a new entry to their extensive product line, which now includes the 6000 series Ryzen mobile processors.

AMD’s Ryzen and Radeon have experienced significant market share growth. This is mainly due to their outstanding gaming performance. Ryzen now has several SKUs in the laptop market, and more are coming every day. CES announced the Ryzen 6000 mobile processors.

These chips are Zen 3+ optimized with RDNA2 6mm modified Node from TSMC, just as we previously reported on a new chip platform. It has connectivity, USB 4, LPDDR5, and other features. As we mentioned, 5GHz allows for 1.3x performance, 2x faster graphics performance, and more than 24 hours of battery life, thanks to RDNA2. This core is simply an updated version of Zen 3. The claimed speeds and improvements are amazing, however. This partnership will allow you to increase your notebook’s security by using Microsoft Pluton processors.

Officially revealed Ryzen 6000 CPUs

  • AMD Ryzen 9 6990HX, 8 cores and 16 threads. Up to 5GHz.
  • AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX 8 cores, 16 threads. 6nm process node. 16MB L3 cache and 3MB L2 cache. Up to 4.9GHz
  • AMD Ryzen 7 6800H 8 cores, 16 threads. 6nm process node. 16MB L3 cache. Up to 4.7GHz

Zen3+ core provides both high performances and efficiency to be used in many different workloads, such as gaming and creative. This efficiency results in higher clocks, lower temperatures and faster speeds. They should. This is due to the low power state in idle mode and new power management that learns about your usage patterns to prepare for the right workload.

AMD Ryzen 6000 benchmarks

3Dmark’s real-time performance gains of up to 28% over the previous generation processors is quite impressive. Below is an image showing this performance improvement and a few other benchmarks they presented.

FSR and other Ryzen 6000 technologies also contribute to significant performance improvements. These performance comparisons are shown in the following images. This is impressive, especially considering the performance comparisons with Intel’s offerings and Nvidia’s MX450 budget offering. We’re likely to see this upgraded at their press conference.
