Blizzard updates players quarterly with information about Diablo 4, including communication and updates on how the game is developing. They also show behind-the-scenes work and reveal upcoming systems to help players get excited for Diablo 4.

Players were disappointed with the last quarter’s update. It was mostly about announcing a new Game Director and an update on Sound.

However, today’s Quarterly Update gives players a glimpse at itemization and the importance of VFX. It also shows the first glimpse at the Paragon System, coming to Diablo 4.

Players have been critical of the paragon system throughout Diablo 3. They hope Blizzard will not repeat the mistake with Diablo 4. The system is an infinite grind for very little power, and it’s not an invincible grind.

Blizzard: The Quarterly Update Brings The New Paragon System To Diablo 4.

Paragon Board, a brand new system, unlocks when players reach level 50. It allows players to move through the system and gain more max-level benefits.

There are four types of Tiles that players can choose from Normal Tiles (Magic Tiles), Rare Tiles (Rare Tiles), and Legendary Tiles. Each type has a different power boost and availability.

One Legendary Tile is available per board. This can be found in the middle. Players will be encouraged to build new boards.

Players will find a “Gate Tile” at the end of each board. This will open a new board for them to progress through. They can also rotate the board to suit their playstyle.

It is not yet clear if Board selection will be capped at a specific amount or if players can continue to grind for as long as they like in Diablo 3.

Final note: Certain points on the board can be referred to as “Glyph,” which allow you to socket items into them that give you unique powers or bonuses.

Although it’s great to see some of the power systems coming to Diablo 4, it is still in the early stages and subject to change. Expect to receive many updates, both visually and systematically.
